west-virginia-wesleyan-college.gifThere’s nothing like a good competition to bring out the best in people. In this case, it’s not about sports, but education. Though there won’t be any fake punts or last second shots, the prize is exciting, as the West Virginia Scholar Program winner will benefit for the rest of their life.

High school juniors in the state have until April 15 to apply for this four-year scholarship to West Virginia Wesleyan College, an award valued at $90,000. A group of 25 students will be selected from the initial applicants, and then MetroNews listeners will begin a public voting process from May 15 to June 1.

Should you know an eligible student, this opportunity is definitely worth mentioning. As a Wesleyan graduate, I can attest to the advantages of this liberal arts institution, which include a beautiful campus, excellent faculty, and diverse curriculum.
